My name is Louis J. Silberman, president of Physician's Skin Institute, and I may be able to assist you with your business. I have owned several successful businesses in the health/beauty field over the years. If you are going to consider starting a medical spa, and I encourage you to do so, this is a fabulous industry, but before you do, I want to caution you on a few things. Think very carefully before hastily joining a franchise or another deal that will cost you an arm and a leg and offer no flexibility. A franchise may lock you into equipment choices
(as they will steer you to one vendor). |
A franchise may force you to buy products only from them. A franchise will also charge you a royalty of about 5% which can be very costly ($50,000 per year on $1 million gross). Down the line many franchisees feel very bitter writing those royalty checks.

An alternative to working with a franchise would be to it "on your own" and make the costly mistakes most people make. I would advise against that as well, because of the extra time and money it takes doing it by yourself.
