PhotoFacial
Age spots, irregular skin pigmentation and wrinkles are just a few of the joys of getting older. Once considered inevitable signs of aging, modern technology has not only challenged this mentality but also produced proven methods of defying it.
PhotoFacial is a new and exciting technique which has the ability to reverse the aging process and correct skin damage in a non-invasive manner. This technique uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to achieve dramatic results for a number of cosmetic problems, such as age spots, broken capillaries, scars, acne and uneven skin tone. Since the skin's epidermal surface is not disturbed, there is no recovery time involved. With PhotoFacial, you will not be forced to use your hard-earned vacation time to recover from cosmetic procedures. Forget lying to your friends (they don't believe that curling iron story, anyway) and concerned stares from your dog, PhotoFacial will have you enjoying your normal activities immediately following treatment. And you'll be delighted with the dramatic results! Please note there are numerous Photofacial Devices on the marketplace and we choose to use the newest technology that came on the marketplace in Oct of 2004. This technology is the most comfortable and effective and has been written up in numerous publications.
Some commonly asked questions
How does PhotoFacial work?
Using a handheld instrument, the licensed aesthetician/certified laser technician applies an intense light in a series of gentle pulses over the treatment area. The heat that is generated by the light causes damage to the vessel or lesion, and the skin begins its natural healing process. PhotoFacial is an excellent modality for removing hyperpigmentation (age spots), evening out skin tone, reducing pore size and stimulating collagen. It may also be able to reduce the appearance of fine lines. Treatments are given at three-week intervals.
How many sessions will it take?
Each client is unique, however, an average number of treatments is five, with a touch-up every three to six months. Since sun damage often goes beyond the surface of the skin and into the dermis, consecutive treatments are necessary to achieve optimal results. Talk to one of our licensed aestheticians/certified laser technicians to determine how many treatments you will need to look your absolute best.
Am I a good candidate for PhotoFacial?
If you would like to improve the overall appearance of your skin without the expense, risks and downtime associated with plastic surgery, then you are an excellent candidate for this procedures. PhotoFacial can produce dramatic results by minimizing pore size, stimulating collagen and correcting hyperpigmentation.
Is there any downtime associated with PhotoFacial?
Not at all. This procedure is non-invasive and most clients return to their normal activities immediately following treatment.
How safe are the treatments?
Very safe. Side effects are extremely rare but can occur. Immediately following treatment, some clients may experience a bit of redness or flushing, and skin irregularities such as brown spots and capillaries may even be temporarily darker. Occasionally, a delayed reaction occurs and the skin may become redder within a short period of time. In most all cases, however, these irregularities will fade and the client will see results.
